Before starting, have at least one document ready that proves you were a student at the institution. This can be any of the following: Graduation certificate, Statement of result, Old school ID card, Admission letter, Matriculation number or Student email address. You will also need a valid ID to confirm you are the actual owner of the transcript. If you have changed your name since graduating, there is a section on the form where you can explain this, so it is not something to worry about.
How the process works:
- Visit transcript.ng, and use the Order button to open the online processing form.
- Then fill in your education credentials along with the details of the organization requesting the transcript.
- Complete payment through the same form. Prices typically range from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000.
- A team member reviews your submission and emails you within 24 hours to confirm they have started the retrieval process, or to flag any issue with what you submitted.
- Within about 5 days, you should receive an email confirming that your official electronic transcript has been delivered to the requesting organization.
Also, they offer support after delivery, so if there is a complaint or an issue with what was sent, you can reach out and get it fixed.
2. Institution Request Portal
Some schools allow you to request your transcript directly through their own portal. Most private universities and a handful of public universities in Nigeria offer this service. Before relying on this option, do a bit of research to confirm your school actually has a functional and reliable transcript system. This matters because some graduates, particularly from public universities, report unnecessary delays with this route. To use it, you simply need your school login details along with the contact information of the requesting organization, then submit your request through the portal.
